Meet Julie, our Nonprofit travelaholic!

Can you quickly describe yourself?
I joined Breakwater in the fall of 2019, and I just celebrated my 5-year anniversary in early October! I am part of our Nonprofit team and am lucky to support clients who serve communities all over the world.

I live in Maryland with my husband, Danny, and we love going to concerts and traveling. Clients will often notice when I change my Zoom background throughout the year – usually based on recent trips or events – which always leads to fun conversation!

What is your favorite part of working at Breakwater?
My favorite part of working at Breakwater is the relationships I’ve built with both clients and coworkers. I love learning about our amazing clients and their missions, while also getting to know about their lives outside of work. My coworkers are the best and I’m so appreciative to have them to lean on.

What is a Breakwater memory that will always make you smile?
The #Delabear of 2019 took the office by storm! We were on pins and needles while an elusive black bear was roaming around nearby; we had live video feeds on computers and were shouting updates to each other. Speaking of storms, I vividly remember a tornado warning near Wilmington that resulted in those of us in the office spending some “quality time” in the stairwell together.
